There are a few new Nokia phones that are about to hit the market, the first one is the Nokia 3310 which will be a classic like handset and then there will be the Nokia 3, 5, and 6 which will be android based phone. Now we can only hope that Nokia will go back to its roots and will make these phones nearly understandable
HMD didn’t announce an exact launch date, saying only that the new handsets would be available in the second quarter of this year.
VTECH’s Victor Ng has revealed a few details about the planned release of the new devices. Now I would like to point out \ that Victor is pretty good track record when it comes to breaking news like this; one example that comes to mind, is when he accurately reported last year that Microsoft was planning to sell off the feature phone business it acquired from Nokia. He reported this news days before it came.
He is now reporting that the Nokia 3310 will launch in Malaysia at the end of April, while the launch of the Nokia 3, 5 and 6 there will be staggered throughout May. The 3 is expected to go on sale first at the beginning of the month, the 5 in mid-May, and the 6 towards the end of the month.
HMD has also said that it “has ambitious plans to release Nokia 3, 5 and 6 in 120 markets at same time in Q2 2017”. Now lets assume that Victor and his sources are correct, all three of the new Nokia devices as well as the 3310 will probably launch in other markets around the world around the same time. This roughly lines up with details revealed by a UK retailer last month, which said that it was expecting all four devices to be available in the UK by May.
