iPhone users beware of this text message

A new variability in Apple’s mobile operating system has a bug that means it’s possible to make someone’s iPhone crash by sending them a text message.

Using this specific string of characters sent as an iMessage will cause the recipient’s phone to continuously crash and reboot.

The string of characters is so specific you can not mistakenly send this to someone. This can only be done when someone who knows the string chooses to send it to an unwitting target (who also uses an iPhone) – to crash their device on purpose.

The only way  to protect yourself from this,  at least until Apple finds a fix,  just switch off notifications for messages.

The trick won’t work on people who have an Android or Windows phone. All the more reason to maybe get a windows phone or android, however I am certain soon there will be something just as bad out there for both Android phones and WIndows Phones.
